The Epigenetic Duality: Subtly Splitting : alchemy

The expression of genes is dynamic & ever-changing. This is known as epigenetics. an organism may utilize this shuffling of gene expression to metabolize certain compounds, buffer pH, ward off attack, or a number of other situations that arise in the world around us.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9a-ru2ES6YEpigenetics is happening all the time, being influenced from the foods that we eat, the amount of blue light and radiation that we take in, right down to the thoughts that we allow to permeate our minds.OK, so who cares? Shifting gene expression? What does it matter? For decades, the field of neurobiology considered the brain's tendency for neurogenesis and the redistribution of brain tissue from lesser used areas as laughable. This phenomenon (as well as others), known as neuroplas...

The Philosopher’s Egg : alchemy

The Philosopher’s Egg : alchemy

The Philosopher's Egg of Hermes is a little known term, even among students of Alchemy. And nowadays, if your search on the internet, you'll find a very common view: that traditional alchemy is a thing of the past. Many operative procedures came to be seen as mere mysticism, restricted to the symbolic plane. The very term alchemy began to be used indiscriminately. Perhaps, with the purpose of aggregating greater curiosity and, consequently, calling the attention of the public. The same has been happening with the term quantum. To better illustrate this excessively "mystical" perspective of alchemy, let's look at the "Philosopher's Egg of Hermes" as an example. The Philosopher's Egg of HermesThe Philosopher's Egg is a very old instrument. But when we find a article referring to it, it's seen as a...

The Five Keys of Nollius : alchemy

It seems there are a lot of inexperienced individuals here that can benefit from these five concepts laid down very long ago, there is nothing wrong with curiosity and I always encourage you learn as much as humanly possible. There is no end to learning."(1) Whatever you are working with, see it is a divine and celestial thing; it must be sought for from Above, and that not without a full resolution for a pious and charitable improvement of it.(2) Before you take yourself to the Work, propound to yourself what you seek, and enter not upon the practice until you are first well versed in the theory. For it is much better to learn with your mind and imagination than with your hands and costs. And especially study nature well, and see if your proposals are agreeable to her possibilities.(3) ...

Kabbalah – Tree of life

There are many books on Kabbalah, many teachings, and many courses. The problem with many of them is that they interpret the material from their logical mind and do not grasp the experiential art of Kabbalah. Many copy what they heard from other teachers and by this the teaching becomes skewed. Here I'll try to provide a different picture. In short: Kabbalah is a map of human souls with 10 emanations or energy centers, each describing a different quality of God and the Universe. In this article, I explain the properties of each sphere of the Tree and its evil counter-forces (Qlippoth) or the Tree of Death. As with any energy, there is opposite unbalanced nature to it. These in Kabbalah are called demons or Qlippoth. It’s not to say that these energies are evil, more accurately unbalanced, an...

Frater Albertus Magnus’ Rules for the Alchemist. (With commentaries) : alchemy

Rule #1:"The alchemist must be silent, discreet, and reveal to no one the results of his research and operations."Commentary: Persecutions has always existed in all ages, regardless of the dominant religion. They are fruit of ignorance and fear of the unknown. Master Albertus, a priest, was aware that the Sacred Art is not opposed to the Holy Scriptures. Contrary to what many people assume, even today, Alchemy is very close to the Christian faith and to most religions. However, some sectors of alchemical study, notably the "magical ones", border on occult paths that flirt with the darkness. We should not ignore the existence of such strands or paths. Since non-Initiates are unaware of these limits, many end up generalizing all our Art as evil. So, according to the Master, it is safer to p...

your story may be what I’m looking for… : alchemy

Have you noticed that, as you began your awakening/healing process, so did the world? The "external reality"? What is your story?Indra's net has come to my attention, and it brought some understanding of "as within, so without", the reflective nature of reality. Then it hit me: this means that when you heal, the world around you heals! As you make your jewel clearer, so will the reflections on the jewels around you become clearer! And then that cleaner reflection gets back to you!! Ad infinitum. Whatever is, gets reflected&reinforced. In this context, when we are asleep we behave and think of ourselves as a reflection of the world. When we awaken (or begin to awaken, view it as you like), we reverse that and see ourselves reflected in the world. On this topic, I think that those two persp...

[Inquiery] Help implementing alchemy into a hard magic system. Long read sorry. : alchemy

Hello!I won't dance around the truth, I'm very, very new to the world of alchemy, but it's one of those things that has been something I want to adopt and understand for myself creatively. I know there are many branches of alchemy. Still, I am approaching it with an elemental casting mind that is used primarily for healing, art, visual entertainment and self-defence. Nothing combative. Many characters I've made have "tattoos" with alchemic symbols that reference their usage of the element in their work and work as a sigil (?) of sorts to manifest power. Is there anything similar in older books or resources I could look into since magic and alchemy hold hands somewhat?Another symbol I looked into was the philosopher's hand and its themes of truth-seeking and transformation as means to commun...

How Alchemy Made Me A Marathon Runner

Member Spotlight: Jess Haines   It was Alchemy that made me love running. I used to run cross country and track in high school, but I liked the idea of it more than actually throwing on my shoes and heading out the door. My parents were marathoners, but at the time I wasn’t sure if it was something that would truly be feasible for me – running more than ten miles seemed terrifying and incomprehensible. Fast forward a few years, and I started classes at Alchemy. Alchemy was the first place where I felt like an athlete again. The studio immediately gave off a feeling of warmth and community, with coaches encouraging us to reach goals outside of the studio. When everyone went into lockdown, I decided to try running again.  My experience was entirely different from those earlier days. I ...
